We met Eric and Diana with their two sons Tristan and Natan already in Mendemblik in Holland, as they were preparing for their Atlantik cruise (see http://www.trinath.nl). By chance we passed their boat Trinath in Falmouth. They departed this morning and we hope to see them for a beer on Lily in Portugal.

In the docks of Pendennis Falmouth. we are having a watermaker built in and other small repairs done to Lily.

Last night we spent a wonderful evening on the river of Beaulieu, a paradise of natur and stil in the belonging of Lord Montagu. Oscar our autopilot steering Lily very reliably.
Old Oxford pal Tabs and his wife Kate and their 3 year old daughter Gabs
came to visit us in Portsmouth and even braved a bit of choppy seas and reefed sails in beaufort strength 6 winds as we plunged into the Cowes
races around the Isle of Wight

having left Holland almost 2 weeks go, sailing from Vlissingen to Oostende (Belgium) across the Channel with perfect breeze to take in the sight of wonderful white cliffs of Dover.

The exciting crossing from Oostende (Beligium) to Dover (England) was full of changes. We set our genneker and took it down ten minutes later as a large cargo ship crossed our path.
