Things change, and so does this site! The next few weeks things might look a bit funky.

As you have noticed we are back in Switzerland for the Winter. Lily is in Lavrion Greece on the hard. This spring we plan to continue our sailing adventures in the Med.

Meanwhile we are enjoying domestic life and going on with our projects.

Laura

Laura started sailing in Optimists and Sunfish when she was a child, lucky to grow up in Cannes near the waters of the French Mediterranean. After she moved inland to England at 16, it would be 14 years of being the geeky science student of Biochemistry and Genetics, and then the worldly nomad with her beloved Landrover Defender Louise bouncing accross Africa and Australia, before she sailed again regularly after many other moves and travels, to settle down in New York City. There, she sailed in small boats in regattas on J24s, J26s, Sonars, mostly up the Hudson River or on Long Island Sound, and then also on Solings with the New York Community Sailing Association.

After tasting the settled life for 3 years in New York and becoming reacquainted with her sister Greta and mother who live on the US East Coast, Laura fell in love with Roderick who lived thousands of miles away in land-locked Basel in Switzerland, and left her job with MSF-USA, packed her bags and moved in with him. Soon after, the longing to sail the world, shared between the two love-birds became too great and had to be satisfied with the purchase of Lily in Holland in December 2004.

Since then, Laura’s had to learn how to manage sailboats with motors and bowprops, toilets, running water and fancy charts on screens showing a little black dot heading mostly for various red or green objects. The big departure was July 2005 from Bruinisse in Holland and there’s no telling where we’ll be in a years time and that feels just fine!
